Geography Blogs
July 9, 2008
There’s a lot of good stuff going on out there in the blogosphere, particularly some good resource and information-sharing sites for education. In particular here are a few excellent geography blogs (mostly secondary), which we’ve found on our travels.
Digital Geography- a site “all about using new technologies in the Geography curriculum.” As well as lots of posts with ideas and resources, there is a section on geography video podcasts.
MHS Geography- a blog for Geography students at Maghull High School. In the owner’s own words: “I will post anything that I feel will enhance Geographical learning.” Some great videos and other resources. I particularly liked the videos about the ‘Structure of the Earth with Play-Dough’.
Key Stage 3 Geography Blog - another site with lots of videos and other resources, and an emphasis on Key Stage 3. Good links to some Slideshare resources, for example this one about Tourism.
Gorgeous Geography - a very popular site run by a teacher in Greenwich. In her own words: “I have set up this blog to help Geography Students at St Ursula’s and any one else out there who has an interest in Geography.” Some great resource links on here, including a fascinating set on ‘The Dancing Rocks of Death Valley’.
